Critical Info

• Please review following IMPORTANT info prior to PRE-assessment:  

  • The applicant & their driver’s license along with a copy of the tax assessment notice must be available on the day of the assessment 

  • Wood burning fireplaces should be cleaned

  • Ensure walkways, windows, doors, access points to the attic, basement and/or crawlspaces, & mechanical room are clear of obstructions

  • Payment is required at the time of the assessment (see details below). 

  For a follow-up (post) assessment, the following applies:

  • You must have receipts available for all eligible work  

  • For window/door replacements – don't remove Energy Star stickers

• Payment is due on the day of the assessment via cheque, cash or e-transfer. Our advisor will provide you with a payment receipt.  Costs as follows:

Pre/Post Assessments 

$550/$330 for homes less than 2,500 sq. ft.

$650/$380 for homes 2,500-3,499 sq. ft

$750/$430 for homes 3,500-4,499 sq ft.

** Additional charges apply for homes greater than 4,500sq. ft. 

*** If an upgrade includes a major renovation that affects the home’s size, additional charges apply.

• To service huge demand for assessments & schedule logistics accordingly, we require 2 business days’ advanced notice for any cancellations or booking changes. A $100 service charge will be applied to all late cancellations and/or booking changes. 

• Space & water heating systems must be on-site  

• Building “envelope” must be intact. Exposed ceilings, exterior walls & exposed floors, inc. interior finish, windows, doors and skylights & foundations must be intact.

• Any renovations that are underway at the time of the evaluation can affect only interior partitions and must not alter the building envelope.  

• A operational AC electrical receptacle must be available
